It’s expensive but a good purchase for my AR to be in a nice concealed spot but easily accessible if needed.

While I don’t own a RACT biometric I do have a Reach 2S and I am very happy with it. Also, their support is outstanding. Very quick response and very helpful. Easy set up and very customizable. I installed it for my VR80 shotgun without any issues. Great product.

Provides the protection I need to keep curious kiddos from getting their hands on our shotgun while still providing fast access. The biometric fingerprint scanner works better than any fingerprint scanner I have used across multiple devices from laptops to door locks! The unit is super adjustable to work across a wide range of platforms (I just had to fiddle with it for a long time to get the fit just right).

Good versatility for your AR configuration.

I had issues with other mounts due to my AR configuration or with AR15 type rifles like SIG that are different enough not to fit in a Hornady claimshell safe. This provides good protection with max configuration options. I may look into a truck type mounting solution for a truck gun. E.g. mounted to a plate bolted to seat mounts or the like.

300 Blackout/AR 5.56 Closet Options

I purchased this for my 300 Blackout SBR but unfortunately my aftermarket stock will not fit in the base. Its too wide by about 1/8 inch. So I instead put my 5.56 AR in the Vara safe and its sitting in there perfectly. Its appears to be built very well and looks great hanging in my closet. Happy with the product so far and serving its purpose.

I really like this gun mount. It doesn’t work perfectly for me as I have Bullpup rifle. The locking collar doesn’t fit. But, as far as what I need, a solid place to stage my rifle, it works perfectly.

Good safe but could be better

The rack is sturdy and secure. My biggest problems with the safe is that it can't seem to remember my fingerprints and the bolt heads where the gun stock rests scratch up the shoulder rest.

Very sturdy and much heavier than I thought it would be. Feels very secure mounted to the wall. Releases shotgun quickly and flawlessly every time.

Set this up at my daughters apartment for her AR. Pretty hefty construction and once rifle is locked in it covers the mounting bolts. Longest part is taking the time to fit it how you want but it’s pretty modular and only had to trim rubber on trigger cover since hers has a Magpul bolt release.

I purchased the shotgun safe because I was searching for a minimalist way to secure it underneath the folding back seat. The solution worked wonderfully, providing a discreet and reliable storage option. Really nice gun mount for my shotgun fits perfectly looks great works great. Had to switch it around for left hand, but that worked out well. Overall good purchase.

Great concept, and easy to install. The only issue was that I was not able to adjust the top mount to fit an attached flashlight. On an SBR there was not much room to move the flash light anywhere else.With the flashlight removed, everything fit perfectly. Highly recommended!

On the advice of John in Support Services I purchased an AR Style safe for my Benelli M3 12 ga. He felt it was the better choice because of the Benelli's pistol grip. He was right except in one respect, the pump slide is too big in diameter to fit into the AR Style's Biometric hinge lock. When I reached out to John he quickly jumped into action and provided me a shotgun hinge piece from their Rife/Shotgun Style safe. I swapped the two hinge pieces and now problem solved! Big kudos to John who worked hard and diligently to solve my problem....excellent customer service and now my M3 is safe and secure in a great, well made product. C. E. By far, worth every dollar. It screws onto the wall very easy. My logic behind this was I didn't want to end up like a typical fat dad that stores all his shit in a gun safe in the corner of the basement or garage, Kid Rock once said, "it ain't bragging m.f. if ya back it up". So I bought one of these bad Johnson's to store one of my freedom fighters on display. Extremely reliable, robust, unbreakable, and easy to use. I leave my carbine locked in it now (vs the gun safe) with a peace of mind because I am the only person that knows the combo and it's a bad ass relic in the room it hangs in. Be prepared for your friends to become mad jealous of this awesome piece of equipment. They stare up at it like it's their first time at a gentlemen's club. My clear message is, buy one because I promise you won't be disappointed.

AR Style Safe

I really like this. Quick access to my weapon when I need it. Easy to put together and mount. Had a little trouble getting the lock to lock at first. Customer service responded quickly and provided the help I needed. Very satisfied with this.

I did a review prior so this is an update. Great product as stated. Had trouble getting my HK 556A4 to unlock as it was creating pressure on the forearm. Customer service reached out and sent me the shotgun style arm. Works fantastic. If you have an AR with a larger forearm or a light kit on the end. Def get the shotgun mount.

Great system just needs some love for the SD chunky boys. I ended up having to purchase the shotgun conversion kit as well as moving the pressure pad on my rail to just to squeeze into the lock set. Also, a lock bracket to keep someone from stealing the can would be great, i built one out of 3/16 plate.

I initially gave them a 1 star because the biometrics wasn’t working and was worried that I had made a mistake buying from a company I wasn’t familiar with. I then contacted VARA via email and they promptly responded and after apologizing for the QC issue sent me a new biometric unit which was properly tested by QC. The system now works flawlessly and I have to say that VARA is a trustworthy company, they stand by their product and their customer service is excellent. Although their only means of communication is via email you will get a response the same day and they will work with you to make it right, that was my experience with John. I have to add that the product is of high quality and the flexibility to make adjustments allowing the AR fit properly are amazing. Great job VARA!!!

Simply practical and safe.

Recently got my second ract. Love these things. They could improve by making a few more bracket styles that will work with folding stocks and pistol grip bases.

Install video is good but could be better if the product and parts shown font match the pants of the instructor, had to watch a few times in middle to see the trigger configuration parts which i had to change, only took 1 minute to get right right after i could see good. Biometric is easy to operate and program. Worth the money.

What’s not to like about great quality

Have yet to mount the wall, but have aligned the firearms in to the safe. Fingerprint recognition is quick and easy makes you feel you never have to worry about releasing it when needed.it’s like having a holster on your waist love it..if you have a large property, you will have no problem, walking around the property and knowing that your firearm is secure when you get back to it.

I was going to return it, but the great customer service that I received made me keep it. Im going to ride it out until the larger stock holders are made and shipped.

Absolutely love my RACT Keypad Safes, I have three of them. I have my guns proudly displayed throughout my home in strategic places that make them available for home defense weapons. Hope I never need them but mean while I can enjoy my guns everyday.

It took a bit to get things adjusted but my AR fits like a glove. It is a great design and heavy duty material. I would have given it a 5 star but the unit beeps every minute or so even after charging it for hours. I have to leave it plugged in to keep the beeping to stop

The Pros: This is a quality product for the price. It gives me piece of mind knowing that although my gun safe is downstairs, I still have a means of keeping back up upstairs that is accessible in a hurry and out of harms way of the grand-kids when they visit. Overall-Great finish, great look. The Cons: The butt plate for the stock is adjustable...the same adjustment should be available for the trigger guard area. My grip is just a little too tight but If I could widen it about 1/8" it would make for a faster draw out of the rack. Another improvement would be the alignment of the latch when closing. It take two hands to latch it which is somewhat annoying. I feel the slack in the hinge could be tighter and that would help with closing it easier.

This product is exactly as advertised and fits my needs perfectly. Solid materials, great design and quality manufacturing.... just wish the nuts which secure the lock, guard & support were more beefy.

Fast Defensive Storage that Works!

I have been looking for a solid fast defensive storage for my long gun for quite awhile. And, Also have been looking for a quality product that I could recommend to my clients, students and followers. So, ecstatic to be able to put one in my home! Ract Keypad

Overall this is a great option for quick access and security. Very well built. Bolts kept spinning when trying to snug trigger guard and butt stock but customer service was quick to respond. They sent replacement parts right away and documented the quality control issue.

Been Wanting One of These

Installation was relatively straightforward although some fine adjustment to the assembly was required for the way I have my Benelli M4. Solid mount and access is quick. Biometric reader has worked flawlessly so far. Customer support was helpful in advising me of the model to purchase based on my firearm. And offering a military discount was the final kicker.

I just received my RACT Bio and my only dislike was how easily the 10mm bolts can be cross threaded if you're not lined up just right,with very little pre-warning due to bolt length. Which is what I encountered, but I was able to save it(I think). Besides that,based on my research,it was everything I expected it to be. We'll see how I feel after using for a while to see if I purchase a second one.

RACT Safe for Benelli M4 shotgun

I am a Mechanical Product Designer with over 70 patents. I am fully impressed with the RACT Safe. Fully adjustable, easy to set up, Secure. A well thought out product. Much respect!

After playing around with the adjustments to get it to fit properly, it works smoothly and effortlessly. I have found the biometric to work effectively without making multiple attempts at the sensor as I’ve had to do with older biometric devices, that made me swear off all electronics for years. I know the battery is expected to last ten months with normal use, but plan on fully charging every Daylight Savings when I change the batteries in my smoke detectors. I have since purchased the Reach S2.

It's a solid safe! I saw someone say that it doesn't fit the benelli m4 because of the mlok rails, but that's not true- it fits perfectly right where the instructions say to position the barrel lock (under the hand guard). They likely just didn't read the manual. It's a highly modifiable safe, and it covers my trigger guard completely by the time I was finished adjusting the pieces. I had to throw one piece out because of the pistol grip, but it had no bearing on the function of the safe.

Worth it but be aware

This was definitely a worthwhile purchase, however I do have a minor complaint and a few things to be aware of. Once I got it mounted to the wall it is definitely secure and sturdy. Setting up the bio metric scanner to read my finger prints was easy. The instructions were easy to understand. Overall, this was definitely a good buy and I have all the confidence that my rifle is secure. I don't like to keep my wall mounted firearms loaded, but now with the RACT I am comfortable with having a mounted rifle loaded and ready. First thing to be aware of, using the bio metric scanner will take practice, just like any other aspect of firearm training. So be prepared to lock and unlock the hinge A LOT. I also recommend experimenting with different fingers to see which one is most efficient at getting the hinge open the easiest. Second thing to be aware of. There is a bit of a 'break in' period. Initially my hinge didn't swing open the way it does on the video, but over time it has gotten better. Again, just open and close it A LOT to fix this problem. Final thing to be aware of. Setting up the three components to perfectly fit your firearm can be a real pain. Sliding and tilting them around to get the right fit, only to accidentally nudge one and have to start all over again made me want to rip my hair out. Now, the only real complaint I have. The butt stock holder is adjustable for height, but not width. The holder can fit butt stocks up to two inches wide, which will work for most firearms. But mine is 2.5 inches wide. Unfortunately, the only fix I had for this was to turn the holder completely upside down and have it rest on the flat bottom. This shouldn't be a problem for most people but it is something to take note of. Overall, this is a great way of securing your firearm outside of a gun safe while also having it ready to go in case it is needed.

Such a great product. Easy to set up on the rifle and then to install. The locking system works great and definitely keeps the firearm secure. I had a question about locking the rack because I didn’t know you have to use your fingerprint to lock it as well. My inquiry was explained in detail and now I’m glad there is a second layer of protection. I highly recommend this product and this company for your firearm safety needs. I will continue to purchase their products.

This fantastic and very solid gun safe. The reason for four stars though, I am not very happy with the location of the 'learning' button for the fingerprint sensor. I bought this safe to have it on the wall right next to my bed, in case somebody breaks through the sliding doors in my bedroom. Key in this situation is having a gun safe that opens as fast as RACT. However, when practicing that situation, one must be really careful to not hit the learning button by accident. Once that happens, the system needs about a second or two to clear before the finger print sensor is ready again. Bottom line: In case there are plans on releasing an updated version of the RACT safe, please place the learning far away from the sensor and possibly add a red LED ring around the sensor itself, so it's easier to find at night, in a panic, with one eye open...

Just somethings to understand before you buy!

The fingerprint reader works as fast as advertised however it's a pain to close the lock sometimes. The adjustment bolts on the rear are easy to strip the nuts in their sleeves or whatever that keeps them in place.. so whatever you do try not to overtighten the bolts. And lastly the take down pin cover is not big enough or long enough. It doesn't cover the pin on my AR-15 or my gen-12.

Easy to Use

I needed a secure way to store my shotgun in the closet without having to purchase an entire safe. I came across this from a co-worker at work who recommended it. it was easy to adjust for a tactical shotgun that had a side mounted shell casing holder and more sleek buttstock. I have an old house, lathe and plaster but managed to find a stud and secured it using the provided tools. It is easy to take out quickly and use if it ever comes to that.

I’m loving this for my AR

I think this is a great product. Well packaged from the box it comes in to how it was packed for shipping. Easy to follow instruction, didn’t take long to install on my wall. The only improvement would be the base for the stock, it only adjust to the left and right but with some stocks having room for storage they are a little thicker. Make it adjustable the other way or increase it by 1/2”. The stock on my .450 Bushmaster didn’t fit so I used another AR-15 to use this with that had a straight stock without storage. The biometric was easy to program and easy use and worked every time without an issue.

Great firearms security solution

The RACT unit is a solid quality built unit. The AR version even fit my semi-auto 12 guage shotguns. The biometrics is the best I've seen. It even continues to update your fingerprints in memory every time you use it not just at the start. The only design flaw I noticed is when you adjust the stock holder and trigger guard laterally from side to side, when farthest away from the center mounting rail the tightening nut capture system inside the stock holder and trigger guard allow the nut to spin freely while tightening and will not allow you to tighten the bolts farthest away from the center rail. This means there's only one bolt holding the mounts. This probably does not happen with regular AR's since they are more in a strait line with the center mounting rail. AR shotguns need the mounts farther out away from the rail and the mounts are not designed to properly capture the tightening nuts at the extreme outer locations. I was able to jam a screwdriver into the slot on the back side of one of the mounts to help capture the nut and get it to tighten but the other will not allow that. Very small issue that probably will not affect the security of the unit unless attacked with a sledge hammer. It did take a month to receive my order. Overall a great product.

I bought the RACT to keep my Mossberg 590S shotgun safe and ready. It works just as advertised, easy to adjust to the shotgun, easy to mount to the wall, and easy to record finger prints. Unlike many other shotgun locks, it works fine with optics. Delivery was about six weeks later than the estimate when I ordered, but it was worth the wait.

Great product, very easy to set up and use, i currently have a benelli M4 in it. will say though I do wish there was a upper section that could cap a suppressor so that I can just leave a dedicated rifle with can on it in there. It’s by the bed for quick access for home defense. But for a non suppressed rifle this things good to go, I’ll be purchasing one more for my truck and I’ll be getting the bedside pistol one too

Excellent Quick Access Wall Safe

I was searching for a solution to keep my firearms secure, while maintaining quick access to them. After much internet scouring- I decided to order some RACT Biometric | Rifle & Shotgun Safes. I am highly impressed with this product. The construction is robust, aesthetically pleasing, and the biometric lock has performed flawlessly whenever accessed. Prior to my RACT purchase, I used a Rapid Safe made by another manufacturer. That unit was ok, but only for lower profile pump action shotguns. The RACT’s spacious/adjustable design works great to secure a multitude of shotgun options. If you are in need of such a product and find yourself on the fence- this safe won’t let you down.

Went from bad to amazing!

First of all, I’d like to say this company has shown true integrity within their business structure and their product. I had originally ordered this product for a Christmas gift for my husband and continued to receive emails stating product was on backorder. This went on for four months, I eventually just asked for a full refund because I was getting skeptical it was fraud. The company did refund my money to my credit card with no issues, however I was still disappointed I didn’t receive the product that I ordered. I spent a lot of time researching a safety device that would be convenient for storing our guns appropriately and away from our toddler. The company had reached out via email a couple weeks ago, asking for feedback on our order where my husband stated that we never even received it due to the ongoing backorder issue and we were just getting very anxious and ended up canceling it and we went into more detail and they offered to make it right and we did receive our product and it is far beyond our expectations. Although it was a bumpy start, I would still highly recommend this company.

This is an awesome wall mount for standard ARs. Be careful rocking any gear like IRs, lights, or rail mounted accessories. I had a harder time getting my honey badger than I thought.

Honestly there is nothing of this quality out there. Takes some careful fitment, but once you get it set it is perfect. I’m usually wary of fingerprint scanners but this one truly is the best I’ve used. Expected to set it up, be underwhelmed, and maybe sell it… but it exceeded my expectations and I’m going to have these as my go-to for AR storage.

The first time I saw the RACT I knew it was exactly what I was looking for to keep a shotgun at the ready for home defense. It is solid and heavy. The fingerprint system is super fast as advertised. Installation was a breeze but I suggest taking your time to get the RACT setup for your gun. Don't rush it. Once you have it setup and you know where you're mounting it, it's faster. I spent way longer making adjustments until I was happy with it. Maybe 5 minutes mounting it to the wall. Excellent product and worth every dime.

I purchased the shotgun Ract safe for my Marlin 1895 Dark series 45-70. Followed the instructions for the adjustments to the actual gun and then installed. Perfect.

Took WAAAAY to long to arrive. That being said, way easy to set up and install. Still tweaking it but so far I really like it.

It does take a little bit of messing with the 3 mounting areas to get it perfect for your shotgun but once it’s set up it is incredibly solid. Everything is heavy duty steel and rubber. Nothing cheap or flimsy in regards what vara safe used to build these. I’m going to purchase a couple more in the near future. The only thing that sucks is the long wait but it was worth it. The biometric part it also super easy to program and opens real fast so no worries about that. The only ding I have is my Shotgun has a side saddle on the receiver and due to this it will still fit but not quite as snug as it would without it. I did not want to sacrifice having additional shells on the weapon so I just dealt with it. Like I mentioned, it still works/fits just not perfectly in the part where the trigger guard and pistol grip shields are. That said though it’s still secure and no you can fit a finger in there to press the trigger. So G2G. Thank you again for making this. I do love it.

Awesome way to secure your long guns

Bought this shotgun safe to secure my Home defense loaded shotgun safely with 2 young grandkids here a lot. I am 100% confident that they, nor any other unauthorized user can access the firearm. I am also 100% confident that if the need ever arises…very easily and quickly get the gun from the extremely secure safe/mount.

I purchased two of the RACT rifle & shotgun safes (one for each of my adult sons) and they love them!! It was easy to install and is made very well. Great Purchase and I plan to purchase another for my husband soon.

Pros: The installation is a little tedious but that’s the nature of a generic platform intended for a variety of different weapons. It is solidly built and does the job it was designed for quite well. Certainly a niche solution, but it solves the problem better than any other product I could find. Cons: High price point! I would find more value if it came with both sets of adapters allowing either shotgun/rifle or AR platforms, giving the ability to change based on future needs without having to buy them separately. Overall I would recommend this for anyone needing a secured fast access option.

Beautiful Design, Limited Capabilities

I love the nature of this design, and I’ve been following Vara for years.. but just as their handgun safe is extremely limited, so is this product. It appears that the designers are very talented when it comes to the electronics and overall aesthetic of the device, but they are in know way gun enthusiasts. The reason I say this revolves around the lack of options when it comes to support for even the most basic firearm upgrades, such as lights, bolt assist devices, stocks, flared mag wells, etc. The limitations are frustrating because I want to buy their products so badly, and I love their products so much, but could never make use of them. In my specific case, my rifle has an HRF flared magwell and a PMM bolt assist device (a device in which you can lock the bolt without removing your firing hand from the grip) - these are very effective tools on a well built rifle, but made the trigger cover / rear pin cover completely unusable. This review is simply written for the many people who may be like me; gun enthusiasts who own well-built, well-designed 21st century firearms. To those individuals, this product may cause you some headaches. To the designers: even with all this in mind, I still want your product to succeed so badly. You have the potential to be one of the most successful brands in the industry if you would just catch up to the industry standards. Standards that include lights on handguns at the very least. I understand the limitations and costs associated with your manufacturing, but by failing to make offerings that appeal to your end users, you are not reaching your full potential. Best of luck, don’t stop innovating!

I bought the Vira safe. I tested and charged it. I made the appropriate adjust to fit my needs and mounted it. It seems to work perfectly, and I love it. I have fast access to my weapon, while it is secure when not needed.

Exactly what I was hoping for

I was looking for a quick access safe for my Beretta 1301 Tactical Mod 2, and a lot of the options that I found wouldn't accommodate the pistol grip. Reddit pointed me towards the RACT so I thought I'd give it a try. The shotgun & traditional rifle version fits the pistol grip, although I did have to remove the trigger guard extension for it to fit. The trigger guard still perfectly covers the trigger and the safe works exactly as I hoped it would. Highly recommended.

I just installed my RACT safe, and I love it. The biometric release is the best I have ever had. The only improvement would be, to use Hex Bolts to install, instead of screws. It does mount securely with the screws, but hex bolts would be more secure. This was a great investment.

This rack is very well made. I’m very impressed with its quality. It was easy to install on the wall. Adjusting the parts on the rack for my rifle took more time then what I expected but in the end it fits well. My rifle comes out very easy when the lock is opened. Highly recommend this Rack to anyone who needs to lock their rifles/shotgun and have it close by for easy access. I’ll probably be buying another rack for my shotgun in the future.

Great Home Defense Shotgun Safe

I looked around and for the longest time could only find two wall safes designed for home defense shotguns. I have young children that will sometimes visit and did not trust either of those options. One day I did another online search and must have worded it differently so this time the RACT Rifle & Shotgun Safe was in my search results. After looking at the video, and reading the reviews, I decided to order one. It did not disappoint! This is not a cheap piece of equipment, either in price or materials, but you absolutely get what you paid for. After fitting this to my pump shotgun and mounting it on my wall, I’m very, very happy I didn’t purchase one of those other safes.

Just what we were looking for

I am new to being a gun owner, and I'm not really into them. I just have them for safety, I hope to never need to use them. This wall mount safe is perfect and very easy to install and to use. It releases quick and it is so safe while locked, no access to the trigger and it'd be really hard to get this off the wall or out of the bracket. This is a very responsible way to store your gun, especially if you jave kids or crazy people living with you... I have neither of those, but this would make me feel safer if I did.

Good but doesn’t work for me

It seems to be made solidly. Unfortunately a benelli m4 shotgun with mlok rails does not fit in the clamp.

I really like the RACT Safe. It seems to be a good tool for securely holding the firearm while I'm home while providing rapid access. I'm considering mounting approaches to possibly make it more mobile around the house to reduce my time to access compared with a more centralized location.

Checks the boxes

Expensive but checks most of the boxes. I spent a lot of time looking for something that is secure, fast access, has a trigger cover and looks good. I wanted RFID but nothing had that and still checked the rest of the boxes. The shipping was fast and the install was straight forward.

Easy to mount and fit my Daniel Defense DDM4v7 Pro well. Would be even better if there was a way to prevent the safety selector from being moved but otherwise I give this safe a 10/10. Trigger guard is well made and protects the trigger from being touched by unwanted hands

Rect shot gun rack

Set up is simple to install. plenty of padding to make shotgun nice and tight. My interior wall are 24 on center could not install horizontal without putting blocking in the wall. Just installed but finger print reading well. Have two prints Installed And no problems with either. This thing is heavy and very stout. I would like leg bolts instead of the screws but in their test it holds very well. I am extremely please with this so far, time will tell. I feel better with it secured to the wall instead of leaning in the closet.

Exactly what I wanted and needed

Finally had a chance to have my dad come visit to help me get this mounted just right. Found the stud and height we thought would work best and he held it to the wall. I laid in bed and jumped out and grabbed it, thumb hit perfectly to pop the lock and shotgun fell straight in my hand. I put the shotgun down and took over holding the safe in place, dad put the screws in and we messed around with the cushioning for a couple minutes. All said and done took less than five minutes to adjust the three sections to hold my shotgun correctly, mount it, and put the cushions on to help secure it and keep from getting scratched up. Absolutely worth the money and wait. Can not recommend this enough.

The gun rack/safe I didn't know I needed

This was a birthday gift from my amazing wife and son. I had seen this product on IG and at vendor shows, I am in the firearms industry. So I am always looking for innovation and most importantly things that add value. Full disclosure I am NOT a fan of the BIO safe. I have had some in the past and replaced them with button entry only. SO when I opened it I was excited but had reservations on the bio entry system. The finger print set up was actually super easy and accurate. I have the finger pint option to log into my MacBook. I will say that apple has nailed this, my finger doesn't not have to be in the same spot and it will always unlock as long as I am close. The VARA RACT is the closest I have found to the apple bio reader. In the gun safe category it is the fastest to open I have come across. I have even tried it with a wet finger and it worked. SO call me impressed. The assembly was not fast but that's not a bad thing. The set up allows you to really personalize the RACT to fit your rifle. Now our bed side rifle is a Beretta CX4 Storm, sadly a rifle that has been discontinued. This rifle is a molded stock. I was concerned it may not fit and Id have to one of my AR's. Not the case. The trigger guard comes with a rubber inset, that I removed with ease. This allowed me to place the STORM in like the RACT was made for it. I also have an optic, a RYKER USA CTRL, a Surefire Scout with a RYKER Sling on this rifle and it fits with no issues. I am constantly practicing and I have my rifle retrieval mechanics locked in. The packing is top notch!!! the Instructions were easy to follow and complete. The install videos was helpful. I recommend this product to EVERYONE!!!!!! Feeling more comfortable now!!

Spent a fair amount of time configuring my new RACT Shotgun system on the workbench. It took a bit of rework as I didn’t want to mount and unmount the safe of an error I had made. My Mossberg 590S Shockwave is now within dependable reach, loaded with home defense rounds, and ready for deployment. All I have to do is finger it and rack the slide 🤔

Awesome product, Beautifully packed which states a lot about the company. Everything you need is in the box Instructions, both written and electronically are very easy to follow. I did modify shotgun mount as I didn’t use the provided screws and I used 1/2” lag bolts to attach mine to the 2x6 wall studs, I did this to even further strengthen the mount to the wall as we have frequent visitors unfortunately (Local meph-heads) I have recommended and shown my setup to coworkers and others this product Again, thank you guys for a great product, it’s serving us well here in Washington state as the new gun bans and storage laws are now in full force and they are pushing now to ban “assault type shotguns”😂 Thank you from a retired USNAVY SUBMARINER and FORMER MEMBER OF THE USNAVY MARKSMANSHIP TEAM.

The RACT itself is awesome! Seems to be very thoroughly thought out. Once all the components are appropriately positioned and tightened down and the RACT is screwed into the wall it is as solid as a rock. Access is quick, as it should be. The only thing that I have a complaint about is the website. There does not seem to be a way to sign into your account to view your order. The only way I could find to do it was via a link with the initial purchase confirmation email.

This thing is pretty awesome. It’s pretty expensive but it’s very well made. The strength of the design is obvious the first time you see it in person. It was not difficult to assemble. It looks cool and offers a way to keep a rifle close at hand without the inherent risk of not being in a safe. The print reader opens the clasp in a fraction of a second. The big question is, “is it worth the money?” Hmmm. If you order it after happy hour it won’t be so hard. 🤣 buy once cry once. If you want a rifle close by, then It is worth it, and as soon as I hung mine in the wall, I sent one to my brother.

Well Constructed

Well worth the shipment wait time. My initial thoughts are, this thing seems very well constructed. I haven't programmed the bio metric entry yet. However, just using the key to open the lock seems very crisp and responsive when opening. Everything is smooth where it needs to be and strong where it should be. I can't wait to get this thing mounted and start using it. Now if I can only find some quiet time away from the family to read the instructions!

This reminded me of how apple products are shipped. Beautiful protective packaging. When I noticed that I knew the quality of the gun safe would be very good and it was. It exceeded all my expectations. The speed of the fingerprint reader is amazing. I have another firearm safe for a handgun and it takes a while to open and sometimes it is problematic. A very well thought out gun safe.

I used this for my Mossberg 590s shockwave. I was worried but the RACT is flexible enough to move the lock, trigger guard, etc. to make it work for this short shotgun. I also had the Streamlight handguard which makes it more difficult but again I was able to move the lock down. Bottom line…great safe. Easy to install. Biometric works better than any type I have used before. Instant.

I own the Reach2 and was impressed with the product and technology so I jumped at the RACT for my 300blk pistol. Set up and install were pretty easy and straightforward. Fingerprint reader and release mechanism work just as I had hoped! If you have a foregrip or other accessory on the rail, I'd suggest ordering the RACT AR with a shotgun barrel hinge, which is slightly bigger and will go around most accessories.

Very Secure

I was able to mount the RACT in an area where my wife and I have access to our home defense shotgun. The quality of materials use to build the RACT is top notch. I am now considering getting the handgun RACT system next.

Not for customized AR-15's

Well built but not for customized AR's. I have an SBR with BCM Gunfighter grip and after market stock. First issue-the stock was too wide for the stock support. No problem... I used an adjustable wrench to bend it out far enough so the stock would fit. Once I tightened everything up, I found I could not rotate the AR out of the trigger cover due to the BCM grip's more vertical angle interfering. I wound up discarding the stock support, rotating the gun counter clockwise in the barrel lock, and pushing the trigger cover up and at an angle so that it had very little upper travel, prevent it from being pushed out of the trigger cover and freeing the gun. I also have a weapon light mounted to the handguard which prevents the AR from being pulled through the barrel lock. I changed the light mount screws to tamper resistant type to make it more difficult to remove the flashlight, if for some reason a thief was able to get it free of the trigger cover by removing the grip and cutting rubber material out of the trigger cover. As much as I really wanted it be really hard to steal, it's more about having it readily available and not accessible by the grandkids.

I love my rifle RACT. Unlike my Vaultek it opens on the first try every time. It was definitely worth the wait.
